The College of Arms is the official heraldic authority for England, Wales, Northern Ireland, and most of the Commonwealth realms and is seeking a receptionist for front of house and wider duties with immediate effect. The College, situated south of St Paul's Cathedral, is open to visitors and enquirers, Monday to Friday of each week.
The post:
- One day per week, 10 am to 3 pm, occasionally to 4 pm by arrangement, at the College of Arms, no remote working options.
- £15.60 per hour (£78.00 per 5-hour day) paid monthly in arrears under PAYE. This rate will also apply to any additional hours worked.
- Paid holidays - four days per annum.
- Holiday cover for other receptionists.
Responsibilities and wider duties:
- Assist the duty herald as required, working from a desk in the Earl Marshal’s Court.
- Receive telephone calls and emails from enquirers and redirect to the appropriate Herald or member of staff. Monitor CCTV cameras.
- Receive and control Heralds’ visitors and sightseeing members of the public.
- Sale of books and souvenirs from the gift shop.
