A private family based in Hampstead is seeking an exceptionally skilled and detail-oriented Housekeeper/Laundress for their large and well-appointed home. This is a full-time, live-out role, working Monday to Friday alongside another experienced housekeeper.

Wardrobe care, ironing, and laundry are the most important aspects of the position, so the ideal candidate must have a minimum of four years’ experience in a similar private household role and be confident in the care of fine and delicate garments and fabrics. Duties include: full laundry service (washing, ironing, pressing and steaming), handwashing delicate fabrics (including cashmere, silks, wool and couture), wardrobe management and seasonal organisation, basic mending and alterations (such as sewing buttons and hems), shoe and leather care, managing dry cleaning, packing and unpacking for travel, and general housekeeping to a high standard, including bed making and room upkeep. You will also liaise with the existing housekeeper as part of the household team. Candidates must have excellent references, expertise in garment care and wardrobe management, and a genuine eye for detail. The role requires a love of cleaning, a positive attitude, and a friendly, discreet, and trustworthy nature. You must be proactive, self-motivated, and able to work well as part of a team.

Hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm (some flexibility for the right candidate). Salary up to £50,000 GPA, depending on experience. Parking is available on site. This is a long-term position within a respectful and welcoming household. Only candidates with relevant private household experience and verifiable references will be considered.
