EXPERIENCED LIVE IN-COUPLE REQUIRED IN NORTH DEVON, to help look after large period home set in extensive grounds with formal, permaculture gardens and woodlands.

There is currently a full-time gardener, two further gardeners plus volunteers, who uphold strong emphasis on following organic principles and sustainable living.

Would suit couple who have worked in the countryside, possibly on an Estate and who are happy for the PA/housekeeper to work part-time. Employers are looking for a professional, flexible, down-to-earth couple who share a passion for eco-friendly living.

Accommodation is a one bed apartment within the main part of the house and use of the garden with beautiful views of the Torridge Estuary.

Both candidates should be drivers and dog lovers.

Flexible working hours, and possibly some weekend work. Close liaison required with team of managing agents. Gardens are open to the Public Easter to October and on occasion weddings and events will be held. Guided tours of part of the house are by special arrangement only.

Full-time GENERAL MAINTENANCE/ HOUSEHOLD DUTIES

• Liaising with Estate office on routine bills/services
• Monitoring condition of contents
• Monitoring heating systems and solar batteries
• Managing waste/ recycling
• Dealing with routine repairs, reporting major items
• Provide security presence on site
• Check windows/doors locked on final walk around house/buildings.
• Managing alarms/CCTV

• Take client to meetings/appointments. Occasional trips to Sussex.
• Keep vehicle roadworthy and check MOT/servicing
• Assist with gardening duties, liaising with Head Gardener

Part-time PA/HOUSEKEEPER

• Cleaning (local company which comes in three hours per day currently)

• Organise client’s diary, and accompany to meetings/appointments as necessary
• Check post and replying to correspondence as required
• Organise travel/book tickets
• Assist with shopping/preparing meals
