My mother, in her 80s, is fit and busy but getting older. She lives in a beautiful area in the Cotswolds and needs someone to look after her dogs if she is out, and generally help out for a few hours a week. Hours will increase, as she needs more help. Two-bedroom cottage provided, fine for a couple. Driving licence essential. Cleaning and basic cooking a bonus.
We are looking for someone who would like to be based near Stow-on-the-Wold, and who would like the role of helping my mother, nearly 87 but who has a very busy life, still drives around, goes up to London, walks and even rides a bit. The person will not be needed full-time to begin with - in fact the main job will be looking after and walking her adored dogs when she is out or away - but it is important that the person does not have another job which means leaving the property in the daytime, and that she is quiet and looking for a quiet life. Someone who writes, paints or sews but who loves long walks, dogs and general organising might well suit this role.
As my mother gets older, she will need more help so there will need to be the option of hours being increased.
Helping her with a bit of cooking from time to time when the family descends would be a bonus.
An option to add to the above role is to clean and do a bit of house-keeping for the “main house” belonging to my brother-in-law which is right next door.
Cottage provided - 2 bed. All else to be discussed.
Must have good refernces and DBS
