(Week-On / Week-Off) Location: Warwickshire We are seeking an experienced and dependable live-in companion/carer to support a lady living with Dementia and Parkinson’s disease. This is a well-supported, long-term role, working alongside another established live-in carer who has been with the family for some time.
The position operates on a 7 days on/off rota and is generously remunerated for the right candidate. The role is centred around companionship, reassurance and practical support — helping Mum continue to engage with the world around her while maintaining her dignity and quality of life.
Our mother is an intelligent, sociable and engaging woman in her 70s with a wonderful sense of humour and a strong love of the outdoors, animals and family life. Despite her diagnoses, she still very much enjoys conversation, outings and shared activities with gentle encouragement and support. She particularly enjoys: Walks with her dog, visits to cafés, garden centres and National Trust properties, spending time outdoors, seeing friends and close family. She is very well supported by family, including her daughters.
About the Role. This is primarily a companionship and support role with personal care responsibilities included. Duties include: Providing companionship, conversation and emotional reassurance. Assisting with personal care including showering, dressing and toileting. Administering medication daily. Driving. Accompanying Mum on dog walks, some dog care Planning enjoyable outing.s and activities.
This is a staffed household with a full-time housekeeper, therefore no cleaning or cooking duties are required. Meals, accommodation and all living expenses are provided during working weeks, and there is support throughout weekdays to allow for breaks.
Ideal Candidate We are looking for somebody who is: Experienced in dementia and/or Parkinson’s care. Calm, patient and emotionally intelligent, genuinely companionable. Respectful of personal independence and dignity, organised, observant and proactive. A careful and confident driver with a full UK driving licence. Comfortable around dogs and other animals. Able to remain calm and reassuring in moments of confusion or uncertainty. Willing to work within a team to ensure continuity of care. Experience in advanced care or end-of-life support would be beneficial.
