Their home has 5-beds and 4 bathrooms. The grounds comprise 6-7 acres and 1.5 acres of formal gardens. There is an indoor winter garden with fishpond and also a small orchard and vegetable plot.
The principals have two Labradors and enjoy the wildlife which visit their garden. They have ponds and a moat and have many bird feeders.
The principals do not enjoy cooking themselves and will need occasional help with preparation and serving at their dinner parties. Cooking of a family-style meal once per week or so would be welcome.
Hours of work: 9-5 but some flexibility possible from both sides, almost always Monday – Friday, with very occasional assistance with housesitting or dinner parties some evenings or at rare weekends. The couple can choose to have time off in lieu, or an overtime payment made for these exceptional times, which will not be more than once a month. The role would suit a couple wanting part-time hours but would need to be full-time hours when the couple are away to ensure the house, gardens and dogs are looked after.
Other part-time staff are employed including help at the weekends.
Candidates: the successful couple must be strong and energetic and have a love of wildlife. They must be happy living quietly in a very quiet rural setting. A well-behaved dog is welcome but sorry no cats. Owing to the location, which is four miles from a small town, a driving licence is required.
Accommodation: Is a separate and private 1-bed, single storey bungalow with large shower/wet room, sitting room and kitchen. There is a spare single bed in the sitting room if required for visiting family and the separate studio accommodation can also be available for visiting family by agreement in advance. The bungalow has large French windows which overlook a pond and is surrounded by garden. All bills are included. Non-smokers please.
Excellent references from previous employers and a valid DBS are required.
