Live-in Housekeeper
Overview
A UHNW family in Knightsbridge are seeking a confident, proactive and highly experienced Live-in Housekeeper to join their professional household team.

This is a family who are genuinely lovely and relaxed in nature, but who maintain the highest possible standards in their home. The successful candidate will be someone who understands the nuances of ultra-high-net-worth service, is completely comfortable working closely with the Principals, and takes genuine pride in maintaining perfection in every detail throughout the day.

Job duties
Responsibilities of the Live-in Housekeeper in Knightsbridge, London:

Maintain impeccable housekeeping standards throughout the residence
Prepare simple, high quality family style meals when required
Immediate response to the Principals’ movements: ensuring bedrooms are pristine after each entry/exit (potentially 8-9 times daily)
Meticulous attention to detail: no watermarks on sink plugs, daily cleaning of hairbrushes, ensuring face cream lids are spotless with no fingerprints, cleaning Dyson hairdryer filters after use
Living area perfection: ensuring pillows, blankets, and blinds are immaculately arranged at all times
Occasional family style service (formal events are catered with hired Butlers)
Confident communication with principals when requested e.g., making tea, responding to requests
Work collaboratively with other household staff to maintain seamless service
Opportunity to travel with the family for up to six weeks per year (two week periods to Sardinia and St Moritz)
Able to run the house alone when the family are away
Support with engineers and contractors on site
⁠Maintain a direct and open working relationship with the House Manager
Prepare the house when a family member comes to London (even for short stays) and manage their visit end-to-end
Candidates must be/have:
Strong housekeeping experience in UHNW households with verifiable references
A capable cook (essential) – able to create varied family style meals
Comfortable and confident working in close proximity to Principals
Exceptional attention to detail with a genuine understanding of luxury standards
Proactive personality – able to anticipate needs without being asked
Confident, warm demeanour with excellent communication skills
Professional, discreet and highly motivated
Right to work in the UK

 


Accommodation
A 1.5 bedroom and 2 bathroom flat is provided next door to the main residence.

Hours
45 hours per week over five days.

Primarily: 08:00 – 17:00, or 09:00 – 18:00.

Occasionally: 12:00 – 21:00 shift for training and coverage purposes

Very occasionally: 11:00 – 16:00 on Sundays (optional, with alternative day off provided).

Location
Knightsbridge, London + occasional travel with advanced notice.

Salary
£40,000 – £45000.
