Radley College is an independent boarding school of about 765 boys situated five miles from Oxford.  

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Matron (Pastoral Housemistress) to assist in the effective running of one of our boys’ boarding houses, accommodating approximately 70 pupils. This residential position plays a key role in providing high standards of pastoral care, ensuring the welfare, development, and support of the boys in a nurturing and well-organised environment.

The ideal candidate will:

• Demonstrate a warm and approachable personality, with a genuine interest in the wellbeing of teenage boys.

• Possess excellent organisational skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

• Show flexibility, resilience, and an understanding, tolerant nature.

Experience:

While previous experience as a matron or in a similar role would be advantageous, we also welcome applications from individuals who are enthusiastic about working with children and eager to gain experience in a boarding setting.
