We are looking for a friendly and dedicated live in couple to help with the maintenance and housekeeping of a large country estate in a beautiful part of the Worcestershire countryside. This is a fabulous ‘lifestyle’ position, for the right couple, looking for a flexible way of life in beautiful surroundings.
The position comes with live-in accommodation with no utility bills to pay. The location is just outside the village of Hallow which is extremely well serviced with a coffee shop, church, village shop and pubs. The estate is also just a few miles outside the historic City of Worcester.
Some experience of housekeeping and property / garden maintenance would be helpful but not essential together with strong organisational skills and attention to detail. More important is a willingness to learn and take on board new skills and a positive and helpful attitude. Essential is a good sense of humour!
Experience tells us we need approximately 40 hrs a week of help. We have 100 acres (including farm land); on average the split is 20 hrs outside work in the 3 acre garden and 20 hours in the house, but a good degree of flexibility is essential. A normal working week is Monday to Friday.
Housework Duties to include (but not limited to):
· Cleaning
· Tidying, organising and de-cluttering rooms
· Some Ironing and washing
· Pet care and occasional dog walking
· Companionship and care for a 76 year old lady, including assistance with daily activities
The Garden requires a good deal of physical work to include (but not limited to):
· Mowing
· Hedge cutting
· Weeding
· Outside building maintenance – to include painting
· Inside property maintenance – to include painting, sanding
· Maintaining and operating garden machinery
We are also hoping to find a couple that may be willing to support in other areas such as occasional driving to include airport runs, evenings out or day trips and additional assistance in the kitchen when entertaining, to include washing up, clearing away and tidying etc. Hence flexibility and willingness to help across a range of areas is essential.
We are happy that the successful candidates find other jobs locally to supplement their pay (as long as this does not conflict with our agreed arrangements) and to make introductions to local friends who may be able to offer additional work.
