Job description

A Live-in Housekeeper/Cook is sought to work at a beautiful country estate near Oxford. The role will focus on good family cooking with occasional dinner parties. The candidate must also be happy to work as a team with another Housekeeper to cover all day to day household duties, tidying and cleaning rooms, dressing the master suite, food purchasing and menu planning. Experience working on estates within a team would be a bonus, as well as a genuine passion for cooking. The candidate will liaise with the Head Gardener to utilise produce from the estate to create fresh and healthy meals. Usually you will be catering for the estate owner only, but you must also be confident cooking for dinner parties of up to 14 guests (assistance will be hired for larger events/shoot lunches). A driver is essential for this role and a car can be provided on duty.

A fully expensed 1 bedroom cottage is provided, possibly suitable for partners or indoor pets to accompany. The normal hours are 8 hours per day, 5 days per week (including weekends). Flexibility is required during busy periods and in these instances, additional hours worked are taken in lieu. The hours are worked in a split shift pattern, you will have a few hours off in the day and then come back later to cook supper for the employer. Salary negotiable depending on experience, around £30,000 gpa. Interviewing now to start as soon as perfect candidate is found!
