Job description

Steward Cook required in Jersey

A wonderfully varied position which encompasses two roles, both of which are as important as the other. The Steward role includes keeping all areas within the home in top order, with great attention to detail. Providing excellent 5-star service, silver service and bartending skills when needed. You will be responsible for shopping, keeping an inventory and re-stocking provisions. Organising internal tradesmen, the Principal's social diary and appointments.

The Cook’s role is to prepare three meals a day for the Principal and occasionally for visiting family and guests. This may also include afternoon tea parties, dinner parties and small cocktail gatherings.

On occasion you will need to share responsibility for the Principal’s dog, accompany the Principal as a companion on outings for high street shopping, or to cinema and theatre. Also when the Principal travels to her private residences in England and France or on holiday, to carry on providing the above duties as you would as if you were in Jersey. French would be very useful but not essential.

Must hold a clean driver’s licence and have proven record of holding a similar role, and previous experience as a yacht Steward would be ideal. Most importantly the successful candidate must be warm and friendly, flexible, highly organised and willing to work as part of a close knit team.

Salary £30,000 dependent on experience. Extra hours would be paid at a flat rate or occasionally given as time off in lieu, with 22 days holiday per year. An enhanced DBS check will be required. (AGY)
