A village pub in North West Oxfordshire is looking for a Senior Chef de Partie / Junior Sous Chef to join their kitchen team who produce excellent English that is presented to the highest standard. Our client is looking for someone who can confidently assist running any station and work well under the pressure of service. The successful candidate would ideally have a background working in a similar establishment with AA Rosette or other award status.
The pub was taken over by new owners and is currently in their second year of trading as a family run business. The owners are passionate about serving traditional English cuisine cooked from fresh, local, seasonal ingredients and ensuring the highest levels of customer enjoyment and satisfaction. They are looking to achieve their first AA Rosette and more this year.
The head chefs design seasonal menus of traditional English fare with a modern twist using the best local produce, so the knowledge and skill to prepare fresh ingredients and cook to order is required.
It is a small team but they take pride in the quality and presentation of the food and the successful candidate would need to ensure the consistency of this.
The successful candidate will have experience of working in a busy kitchen, be able to work in an organised manner, be able to manage their time to ensure the continuity of service and be willing and able to take direction to help expand their current skills.
This role requires someone who can work calmly and efficiently while maintaining high levels of food presentation when under the pressure of service.
Working a mixture of split and straight shifts, approximately 48 hours per week with a salary of £25,000. Benefits include: 28 days holiday, company pension and meals on duty. Private accommodation is available to rent less than half a mile from the pub. The pub is in a rural location but there is a good bus service to Chipping Norton and Oxford, however owning a car would be beneficial.
The pub is closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
