Job description

SOMERSET VILLAGE. An opportunity is available for a single person or a couple to undertake two tasks based from a dedicated newly refurbished three bedroom cottage in a quiet, picturesque Somerset village. It is a requirement of the opportunity that the successful applicant(s) occupy the cottage which is the central cottage in a row of three opposite a pub. The cottage is unfurnished and has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a spacious living room, a large kitchen with Aga, and utility room / downstairs loo and outside sunny patio but no garden. The first task would be to oversee an adjacent small museum-style garage (not open to the general public) of classic cars (ten in total). The task would be to check that the garage is secure and to review the monitoring security cameras (the DVR is located in the cottage) and maintaining a log book of the cars (infrequent) usage and to keep the cars and the garage clean. No mechanical knowledge is required. The second task would be to manage the holiday letting of the next door, equally newly refurbished, three bedroom, fully furnished cottage. This task would entail promoting the cottage on suitable letting portals, accepting bookings, deposits and payments on behalf of the owner, greeting or arranging for others to greet guests and cleaning the house on a guests departure in preparation for successive guests. A monthly payment would be made in respect of both activities and a profit share would be made available in respect of the holiday let activities. There would be no rent or fee payable to occupy the cottage. The successful applicant would be welcome to take on additional holiday let management opportunities of which several possibilities exist in the village.
