Queen Victoria School (QVS) is a co-educational Boarding School funded by the Ministry of Defence to provide stable and uninterrupted education and boarding to some 270 children of Service personnel, from ages 10/11 to 18. The School is set in 45 acres of beautiful Perthshire countryside.


An opportunity exists for an experienced, caring, resident Housematron who will be working in our Girls’ Boarding House looking after the welfare of its children between the ages of 11 and 18.


Applicants should be registered, or willing to register, with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) and obtain SVQ 3 Social Services (Children and Young People) at SCQF Level 7, within the timescale specified by SSSC.


Applicants must be Disclosure Scotland Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) registered, prior to taking up post.


The annual salary for the Housematron is £19,096. This post also attracts a QVS Recruitment and Retention Allowance of £3,000 per annum. Please be advised that the Department is conducting a review of all pay related allowances which could impact on those allowances that the post currently being advertised attracts.


Accommodation is provided in the Boarding House at a nominal charge.
