Job Specifications

We are seeking a dedicated and organized Part-Time Housekeeper to maintain a warm and welcoming environment in our country home, a smallholding between Billingshurst and Haslemere, on the Surrey and West Sussex border. The ideal candidate will have experience in household management and be comfortable working in a dynamic setting with two principals, including a busy executive who travels frequently.

Responsibilities; 

Housekeeping: all cleaning duties, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping floors, and maintaining overall cleanliness in living areas, bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen. Organising and management of kitchen and utility rooms. 
Food Shopping: Plan and shop for groceries ensuring that the kitchen is stocked with fresh ingredients and essentials. Ability to follow dietary preferences and restrictions is a plus. Cooking: occasional preparation of evening meals when the lady is travelling, able to take dietary preferences into account. 
Laundry: Manage all laundry tasks, including washing, drying, ironing, folding clothes, bed linens, and towels.
Wardrobe Management: Organise and maintain the wardrobes of both principals including seasonal clothing rotation and care for special garments. Prepare packing lists and assist in packing for the lady, ensuring all necessary items are included for trips.
Pet Care: Assist with occasional care for household pets including dogs, chickens and sheep on occasion. This may include feeding and general supervision.
General Maintenance: Report any maintenance issues and assist with keeping the property in good condition.
Managing Tradespersons: Coordinate and manage appointments for tradespersons including scheduling, supervising work and ensuring tasks are completed to satisfaction.
Appointment Management: Handle household-related appointments and schedules for the principals, ensuring timely completion of all necessary tasks.

Qualifications:
- Previous experience in housekeeping or similar role preferred.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage time effectively and juggle multiple responsibilities.
- Comfortable working in a rural environment and with animals.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with the principals.
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation.

Part-time position with flexible hours, typically requiring 15-20 hours per week. Some weekday availability preferred, with potential for weekends during special events or travel.


Competitive hourly rate based on experience.
