Bristol - Domestic Couple - Separate Lodge – Mon -Friday £ Negotiable
We are seeking an experienced domestic couple to support a professional couple in settling into their new residence. The property is a newly-built custom home. The spacious 5-bedroom property spans three levels and is situated on 7 acres of land, featuring a vegetable garden, lawn, and greenhouse. The house is being finished to a high specification and will include amenities such as a tennis court, pool, gym, and sauna/steam room. This will serve as the family’s primary residence. They anticipate hosting guests, family members, and grandchildren. There is also a possibility of acquiring two Doberman dogs. The property is located in on the outskirts of Bristol, in an area of outstanding natural beauty near Clifton.
Job Description:
As a domestic couple, your responsibilities will encompass various aspects of household management and maintenance. Here are the key duties:
• Maintain a high standard of housekeeping throughout the residence.
• Care for delicate items such as crystal, China, and specialist surfaces like wood, stone, and marble. Also, handle fine fabrics with care.
• Manage laundry tasks, including handwashing delicate items, folding, and sorting.
• Wardrobe management, including packing and unpacking suitcases.
• Perform weekly linen changes and ensure the upkeep of bathrooms and towels.
• Prepare guest bedrooms as required.
• Prepare family-style meals, including traditional dishes like roasts, utilizing produce from the garden.
• Manage stock levels and provisions for the house.
• Drive as needed, such as airport runs and general driving duties.
• Maintain several vehicles, including a Rolls Royce.
• Assist with gardening tasks, including general mowing, weeding, and tending to the vegetable garden. Specialised landscaping professionals will handle more intricate garden maintenance.
• Handle general DIY tasks and indoor/outdoor maintenance, such as sweeping patios, pressure washing, changing lightbulbs, and basic repairs.
• Take care of swimming pool, sauna, and steam room maintenance.
Candidate Requirements:
To excel in this role, you should meet the following criteria:
• Previous experience as a domestic couple with a proven track record of longevity in your roles.
• Strong written references attesting to your excellent performance.
• Ability to work well together as a team, as well as independently, and with minimal supervision.
• One member of the couple should have expertise in housekeeping and cooking, while the other should possess skills in gardening, chauffeuring, and general handyperson tasks.
Days of Work, Accommodation, and Salary:
• You will reside in a brand-new, fully equipped one-bedroom lodge located on the property. The lodge offers modern amenities and comprises a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen/diner, and sitting room. Pets will be considered, but the accommodation is not suitable for dependents. All bills included.
• The position is open for a September start, but an immediate start may be considered for the right couple.
• The working schedule is Monday to Friday, with flexibility if needed (approximately 40 hours per week). Overtime hours will be given off in lieu.
• The combined salary for this role is negotiable based on your experience, references, and skill set.
