Cognatum Estates is the leading provider of high specification rural retirement estates with an envied reputation for service and quality. 

We are currently looking for versatile couples who can manage our private estates and give reassurance as professional “good neighbours” to our residents on estates where we have vacancies in Reading, Berkshire and Fordingbridge, Hampshire. These are full-time permanent contract positions and accommodation is provided.

These estates form part of 60 exclusive private estates across the south of England managed by Cognatum Estates, a not-for-profit company.  

The role combines general estate management and administration of the development, with a supportive role to our residents.  We are looking for a couple who have a genial personality but just as essential to be well organised, practical and unflappable in a crisis.

The post also includes the responsibility of maintaining extensive grounds mainly laid to lawn and shrubs.  It is, therefore, essential that applicants have a keen interest and are competent at general grounds maintenance.

The scope and responsibility of an estate manager role is very wide-ranging so a flexible and hands-on approach is vital, as is being trustworthy and reliable.
