Location: Village near Oxford Accommodation: Self-contained annex of the main residence
Overview
We are an active and independent couple approaching our 90th year, seeking a qualified and experienced carer to live in a private annex on our property.
While we do not currently require full-time care, we are planning ahead. The role will involve driving, light caretaking and practical support initially, with the expectation that it will develop into a more hands on carer role over time.
The role could be part time, at least initially, which would leave the carer with the opportunity to take other part-time roles.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide carer services as required and we ready to transition into a carer role, which could be full-time, as our needs evolve
• Assist during periods of increased need (e.g. post-operative recovery)
• Provide on-site presence, particularly when we are away
• Assist with general household and organisational tasks
• Run local errands, check deliveries, and prepare simple meals when required
• Support with care of two whippet dogs
•Occasional driving
• Be first point of contact for personal alarm calls
Current Support
• Housekeeper: weekday mornings
• Cleaner and gardener regularly employed
Candidate Requirements
• Fully trained, qualified and experienced care professional (essential)
• Reliable, discreet, and proactive
• Confident driver
• Organised and practical
• Dog friendly
• Seeking a long-term, live-in arrangement
• Able to prioritise and adapt to our needs as they develop
Additional Information
• Absences of more than 4 nights to be agreed in advance
• May suit a couple who can divide responsibilities between them
