Residential Carer and Companion required for our client, a 90-year-old gentleman, living on his own in Templepatrick just outside Belfast.
Our client’s home is within an estate of a lovely old castle, and the Carer would occupy a room and bathroom on the top floor of the house as our client sleeps downstairs.
The role is to primarily provide companionship to the gentleman who has an interest in many sports including rugby and football. Two years ago, the family recognised some short-term memory loss and last year he was diagnosed with rectal cancer. He had radiotherapy to bring the tumour down and had a stoma fitted. This has given him a new lease of life! You will need to be a dog lover as our client has a black Labrador which needs daily walks and feeding. The post would suit applicants with experience of caring for someone with a stoma, poor mobility and experience of dementia. A clean driving licence is required. The client has a car for the Carer to use for shopping and taking him to his appointments. A competitive salary is offered to the successful candidate.
Recent checkable references and a valid Enhanced DBS are required. (AGY)
