A fabulous opportunity for a manager who is a current hospitality manager, hotel manager or with experience of private households.

 

The venue you'll be managing is a wonderfully unique guest house which is full of character and charm. Set in some of the most picturesque surroundings and 20 acres of land, this Grade II listed building was built in the 1800’s and was the former home of a renowned British family over 100 years ago and to which remains part of the strong heritage today.  The guest house is only home now to the executive team of a nearby company for overnight stays, events and conferencing, which hosts 12 bedrooms.

What would we like from our Guest House Manager:

 

• Have experience in a management role within hospitality, F&B or events management

• Degree educated or equivalent

• Possess entrepreneurial skills to create a thriving and successful working environment

• Excellent management, leadership and communication skills for supporting the General Manager

• Good understanding of financial management and be commercially astute

• Able to demonstrate your analytical approach to problem solving and can display a real passion for food and customer service

• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and conference facilities set up

 

What’s Required

• Provide a professional hospitality catering and housekeeping service, ensuring that company standards are achieved and maintained in addition to all client expectations being met.

• Ensure that guests are given a prompt and efficient service and that their needs and expectations are constantly exceeded.

• Ensuring that the location achieves the financial targets agreed with the client and in line with the budget.

• Effectively manage the diary for events and overnights stays as well as to drive occupancy rates and manage resources accordingly.

• Bring a uniqueness in your sense of creativity to events and the daily running of the house.

• Be responsible for motivating this medium sized team and delivering training, recognising needs and carrying out appraisals. Supporting them in their role and having an element of succession planning.

• Knowledge or experience in managing a Grade II listed building is desired but not essential.

• All areas, inside and out, of the Grade II listed house should be well maintained and well-presented including bedrooms and all associated guest areas.

• You thrive on getting the best out of people and maximising commercial opportunities

• You draw satisfaction from managing, training and supporting a team

Additional Information

 

THE GARNISH:

• £30,000 per annum

• A live-in position, all bills included

• 28 days holiday inclusive of bank holidays
