Residential Carer and Companion required for a fairly active and intelligent lady who lives on her own in a beautiful rural location in north Wales within Snowdonia National Park.

Our client is 86 years old and has Alzheimer’s. She is forgetful and often repeats but her long term memory is excellent and she likes to reminisce and talk about her life.

The post would suit someone with experience of caring for someone with dementia and/or Alzheimer’s. The appointee is expected to provide companionship as well as practical support and to encourage our client to maintain an interest in things..

The role would particularly suit someone with an interest in hiking and outdoor pursuits due to the location and working hours.

• Prepare and cook meals from scratch
• Drive to appointments and social outings
• Accompany on shopping trips
• Assist with daily activities to promote well-being and independence
• Provide personal care as needed (currently minimal, but may increase over time)

Rota: The rota is shared with another Carer over 7 days which rotates every two weeks. There is one long week and one short week so that there is a 3 day weekend off every fortnight.

Accommodation: The Carer is expected to live in the house with our client when on duty. When off duty there is a newly renovated, private apartment (annexed to the main house) with all bills included for the Carer to use during breaks and to sleep when off duty. The Carer is able to leave the house for any breaks.

Due to the rural location, own car essential but the family have a car for the Carer to use for work purposes.
